someone in the alfred hitchcock tag said
“why do people like alfred hitchcock films?”
A lot of times the reason will be, “Well it’s just like any other thriller movie, nothing special,” which leads me to believe that they don’t realize Hitchcock just about invented that genre, and most of the classic conventions of that genre. Not to mention the camera angles and moves he came up with, like the Dolly Zoom in Vertigo, which would be used for many films after (Jaws, Goodfellas, blah blah etc).
And to top it all off, the man was a genius. He knew exactly how the audience would see his films. He has more clever, thoughtful quotes than anyone else I’ve seen regarding film.
I wish I had to time to start the FuckYeahHitchcock back up.
I love when I haven’t played a game for years and a song pops into my head for no reason. Today it was The Song of Healing
![Dark City (1998)
This is one of those movies that you’ll wish you could erase everything you know about it and watch it for the first time again. Even though I just watched it for the first time, I can already see it being played over and over at my place.
Also apparently I watched the Director’s Cut, which doesn’t explain the entire plot in the first two minutes of the film, so try to find the DC if you can?

idea idea idea;
a world in which we all control our own time.
And in turn become addicted to time, and have to keep controlling it by going forward in large quantities of time. But is time as infinite as we think? The people in 4,000,000 AD will soon find out!

Loudly to his friend…
New favorite saying.
That show is the equivalent of comedic cancer.
Damn this show, damn this show to the farthest reaches of Hell, where you’re forced to sit in a room and try to remember really great movie quotes that you forgot one or two words to, and just when you think you’ve remembered it someone pops up and grabs your attention, making you completely forget again.
I’ve tried to stay away from previews, reviews, etc because I’d really like this to work (at least for two seasons), but I feel like disappointment might be in store. I hope this first episode explains why they end up in the Dino age instead of some other non-human populated time (besides the almost robotic response from viewers I’ve asked that is, “because it’s more interesting.”). Well, here goes nothing.
P.S. If this show bombs I’d be perfectly content with Parks and Recs and waiting for Walking Dead.
P.P.S. New Girl should be renamed Zoey as You’ve Seen her Before
I always felt uneasy with this scene in the Dark Knight, now it makes sense. Not that it makes the film bad, but some of the action scenes did have a toll at my subconscious it seems.

Well I WAS excited for Spotify. But after trying it out, there’s absolutely no setting for gapless playback. Dark Side of the Moon (and most of Pink Floyd), Black and White Night, Abbey Road, Most of Led Zep and The Who, classical and soundtracks, all are affected. Also the ads are pretty annoying, and you have to purchase the premium account to get the “cool” features.
